Deciding on a full home remodel

My wife and I made an offer on a house because of the rating of the local school district and its affordability.

We were happy with the size of the yard and square footage of the home.

However, the curb appeal was definitely lacking. There was insufficient closet space, not enough natural light and an awkward overall floor plan. The master bedroom was especially tiny and the bathroom terribly outdated. My wife complained about the kitchen, and I needed an office space. We eventually contacted a custom home builder to discuss ideas for a full remodel. Our plan was to gut the home down to the bare studs and install a whole new plumbing, electrical and heating/cooling system. We hoped to open up the floor plan, install new flooring and add a back deck. For such a huge project, we needed knowledgeable and experienced assistance. There were concerns over getting permits and complying with local building codes. The custom builders inspected the crawl space, attic, roof and foundation. They listened to our ideas, worked closely with us and developed a design that met all of our priorities. We were very impressed by the organized scheduling of each stage of the process. Watching the house take shape was exciting and fascinating. Because of the insight of the custom builders, we added some personalized touches. We picked out everything from the light fixtures and countertops to the bathroom tiles and faucets. We were surprised when the project was completed ahead of schedule and within the original budget. The quality of materials and craftsmanship is evident. The home is comfortable, energy efficient and the perfect fit for our lifestyle.
