Dryer fire destroys home

As a homeowner, I am quite conscientious about regular maintenance.

I make sure to inspect the roof and clean the gutters.

Every year, I drain the hot water tank. I am diligent about replacing HVAC filters and keeping the home clean and tidy. I mow the lawn, trim the shrubs and caulk around windows. Prior to every load of laundry, I clean out the lint trap. However, I never gave the dryer vent a thought. It never occurred to me to hire professional service. Over the years, an abundance of lint accumulated at the back of the dryer and within the venting hose. Lint is extremely flammable. The lint caught fire when no one was on the premises. While I am especially thankful that no one was hurt, the fire went unnoticed for quite some time. It wasn’t until the flames had reached the roof that our neighbors called the fire department. By that point, the house was largely destroyed. The fire combined with the efforts of the fire fighters made for a total loss. Although I fought with our insurance company, they were not helpful. I wasn’t sure how to proceed. My neighbor suggested that I get in touch with Applegate Homes. They are a family-owned company based in Phoenix that buys homes for cash. They provide offers on properties in as-is condition. They were not discouraged by the remnants of the fire. After an evaluation of the home, they presented a no-obligation cash offer. Every stage of the sale was quick and simple. They took care of the complexities and paperwork. I didn’t need to worry about a real estate agent, commissions, closing costs, financing contingencies or anything.
